A light and intriguing read, Amy Poehler's novel Yes Please was what I had hoped it would be...and then some. Obviously I was anticipating some good chuckles throughout and boy was I in luck. Poehler is a witty, intelligent, and highly entertaining woman who slips in comedy at every turn. I appreciated her ability to share her story and what she has learned along her life journey in a riveting story-like fashion.
Poehler shares her interesting perspectives on life, personal stories, and amusing facts that made me both laugh and honestly reflect on issues. She has a fun way of engaging the audience while writing an excellent book. I didn't know much about Amy Poehler before cracking the cover open other than her skits made me laugh. But I found myself impressed with her story and how she has led her life. If you're looking for a laid-back book that explores a strong woman and her success, check out Yes Please by Amy Poehler, an undeniably pleasant read.
